The Nymph's Cave

Until 1963 Melissani cave could only be visited by those who dared climb down by rope and reach the island by rope and reach the island by swimming in the icy water of the lake. Finding yourself drifting in this amazing cave, you hold your breath to catch the sound of a single drop of the water, falling from the walls of the cave to splash gently into the shimmering water of Melissani; a lake which, despite its countless visitors, still insists on engulfing you in silence and scattering the invisible, mystical powers.
