Μέσα από τις επιστολές που τις έστελνε ο αφοσιωμένος της μαθητής, ο Συνέσιος ο Κυρηναίος, διαγράφεται καθαρά το μέγεθος της προσωπικότητας της. Υπήρξε η γνήσια καθηγήμων , μιας ομάδας λογίων, φιλοσόφων μαθηματικών και αστρονόμος. Το κύρος της ήταν τέτοιο ώστε συγκέντρωνε γύρω της ένα σημαντικό πλήθος αφοσιωμένων οπαδών. Δεν χωράει καμία αμφιβολία ότι ο πατριάρχης Κύριλλος που ήρθε σε σύγκρουση μαζί της, ευθύνεται για την φρικτή δολοφονία της.
