Το τραγούδι αυτό \"Για το λυγμό σου\", για σένα, που τραγουδάς σαν εξορισμένος άγγελος. \u003cbr\u003eΠώς μπορεί να βιώνει κάποιος τον πρώιμο κι αθέλητο εξοστρακισμό του σαν πανηγύρι; Και πώς γίνεται μέσα από την ελάχιστη ρωγμή του σκοταδιού του να μεταμορφώνει τη σκλαβιά σε οίστρο ελευθερίας; Ένα απ' τα θαύματα που κατορθώνει η νιότη, όταν συντροφεύεται από γνήσιο πάθος για ζωή. \"Έρημο πουλί της μαύρης νιότης μου\". Με την γλυκόπικρη γητειά της Λιζέτας. \u003cbr\u003eΜοιάζει κάπως παράταιρο αλλά δεν είναι το \"Από την Πάτρα στην Αθήνα\", αφιέρωμα σ' ένα από τα πρόσωπα της νεώτερης λαϊκής μυθολογίας μας, την εμβληματική ερμηνεύτρια Πόλυ Πάνου. Ένα απλό περιγραφικό τραγούδι, ίσως όμως διδακτικό, αφού είναι σύνοψη του οδοιπορικού μιας απ' τις τελευταίες λαϊκές θεές, μιας ταλαντούχας και πεισματάρας παιδούλας, από την αυλή ενός Πατρινού φτωχικού στα επιφανή λαϊκά κέντρα και την κορυφή της δισκογραφίας, στο πλάι των μεγάλων συνθετών, χωρίς να υποστέλλει την σημαία του ήθους των παλαιών ημερών, που συνδιαμόρφωσε το καθαρό πρόσωπο της σπαραγμένης μας χώρας τις πρώτες δεκαετίες μετά τον πόλεμο. Για την φίλη μας την Πόλυ, την περήφανη που ήρθε στον κόσμο στις 28 Οκτωβρίου 1940. \u003cbr\u003e\"Τα τρελά σκυλιά της νύχτας\". Για πραγματικά σκυλιά. Και για πραγματικούς ανθρώπους. Κλασικό ζεϊμπέκικο με θέμα την βάναυση νυχτερινή περιπέτεια εκείνων που τους κατατρέχουν ή τους παρατούν και τους απολησμονούν οι άλλοι αλλά και τους δαιμονίζουν τα ακόλαστα πάθη τους.\u003cbr\u003eΤο καθήκον για την παραπλάνηση, την παγίδευση και την ακόλουθη συντριβή, όχι μόνο του ανύποπτου αλλά ακόμη και του πολύπαθου απ' τον έρωτα ανθρώπου, έχει ανατεθεί στον \"Δήμιο του έρωτα\". Το τραγούδι αντιστρατεύεται την ιστορικά καθιερωμένη εκδοχή ότι οι φερόμενοι ως \"νικητές\", οι κατ' ουσίαν εξουσιαστές και καπηλευτές των ιδεών, των αξιών και των κοινωνικών αγώνων είναι οι κερδισμένοι, καθώς η ζωή δείχνει πως οι άλλοι, οι \"ηττημένοι\", δεν είναι οι χαμένοι, αλλά οι μόνοι που υπηρετούν την ουσία της, φυλάνε τις αξίες της, και σε κάποιους απ' αυτούς εναπόκειται η όποια ελπίδα ανατροπής των κατεστημένων. \u003cbr\u003e\"Το κελί\" είναι το θολάμι του κυνηγημένου χταποδιού, το κρυφό δωμάτιο της τυραννισμένης ψυχής του ανθρώπου που πατάει με το ένα πόδι στον κόσμο και με τ' άλλο στον ιδιότυπο ασκητισμό του.
