The purely scientific and technical recording of antiquity, which it serves as an auxiliary, and an aesthetic approach to ancient art, which expands the boundaries of photography as applied to archaeology. The purpose of the present exhibition is to explore the aesthetic dimension of archaeological photography and to describe its development from the artistic photographic attempts of the 19th century travelers to the creative archaeological photography of the 20th century. The exhibition describes this development through a group of photographers whose work is extends over a period of 150 years.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEach part consists of photographs that had an influence on their time, showed new tendencies in the representation of the antiquities, or suggested a new way of seeing beyond the obvious, implying, sometimes cautiously, sometimes directly and intensely, the creative approach of the photographer. Ο σκοπός αυτής της έκθεσης είναι να ανιχνεύσει την εικαστική αυτή διάσταση και να περιγράψει την εξέλιξη της αρχαιολογικής φωτογραφίας, από τις ταξιδιωτικές φωτογραφικές απόπειρες του 19ου ως τη δημιουργική αρχαιολογική φωτογραφία του 20ού αιώνα. Η έκθεση αποτελείται από πέντε ενότητες, που περιγράφουν αυτή την εξέλιξη μέσα από φωτογραφίες επιλεγμένων φωτογράφων των οποίων το έργο εκτείνεται σε μία περίοδο εκατό πενήντα ετών.\u003cbr\u003eΗ κάθε ενότητα περιλαμβάνει φωτογραφίες που ανέδειξαν νέες τάσεις στην απεικόνιση των αρχαιοτήτων, ή πρότειναν μία νέα ματιά, που \"έβλεπε\" πέρα από το προφανές, υπονοώντας, άλλοτε διακριτικά και άλλοτε με άμεσο και έντονο τρόπο, τη δημιουργική παρουσία του φωτογράφου στο χώρο. Αποτελούν χαρακτηριστικά δείγματα της εποχής τους, που περιγράφουν μια διαδρομή εξετάζοντας τις δυνατότητες της αρχαιολογικής φωτογραφίας να υπογραμμίσει την εικαστική συμμετοχή της, καταγράφοντας ταυτόχρονα την πληροφορία και την υποκειμενική, συνήθως. \"πραγματικότητα\".
