Πληροφορίες μυθολογικές αντλούνται επίσης από τους Ομηρικούς Ύμνους, από τμήματα επικών ποιημάτων του ομηρικού κύκλου, από τη λυρική ποίηση, από τα έργα των τραγικών ποιητών του 5ου αιώνα π.Χ., από κείμενα και συγγραφείς της Ελληνιστικής και της Ρωμαϊκής περιόδου, όπως ο Πλούταρχος και ο Παυσανίας. Πλείστες σκηνές της Ελληνικής Μυθολογίας εικονίζονται και σε έργα τέχνης, πλαστικής και αγγειογραφίας, ήδη από τη Γεωμετρική εποχή. Η επίδραση της Ελληνικής Μυθολογίας στον δυτικό πολιτισμό είναι ευρύτατη τόσο στις εικαστικές τέχνες, όσο και στη λογοτεχνική παράδοση, αποτελεί μείζον τμήμα της δυτικής πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς.
